He was predeceased by: his wife Pat; his parents, Ralph Anderson and Alice Anderson (Webb); and his siblings, Lois Nordin (Anderson) and Ralph Anderson, Jr..

He is survived by: his children, Tracy Murphy, Tammi Olson (Gary) and Bart Anderson (Lisa); his grandchildren, Justin Bissell (Caitlin), Heather Bissell, Seth Bissell, Sara Zinda (Zac), Sam Anderson and Courtney Anderson; and his great grandchildren, Acuzio Bissell, Hazel Bissell and Yanco Bissell.

The family asks that memorials be given in George's name to Knife River Lutheran Church.
