John M. Ernster Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John M. Ernster (La Crescent, Minnesota), who passed away on August 17, 2025, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Linus Ernster and Pernilla Ernster (Klug); his brother Duane Ernster; and his siblings-in-law, Kenny Meisch and Barb Ernster.
He is survived by: his wife Ilene Lager; his children, Michael Ernster (Amy) and Emily Ross (Jeramiah); his grandchildren, Johnathan and Cashten Ross; and his siblings, Alice Ernster, Larry Ernster (Kris), David Ernster (Maureen McGowan), Mark Ernster, Rita Duda (Ed) and Jane Meisch. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the La Crescent–Hokah School District #300.
