He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Bjerke and Josie Bjerke (VanKlei); his sister Margaret Emery (Marlin); and his son Daniel. He is survived by: his former wife Mary Jean Scholten; his children, Connie Betz (Ed), Wanda Bjerke, Charlene Bjerke and Dennis Bjerke (Jode); and his grandchildren, Kristi Hawker (Mike), Angie Betz (Mike Volk), Amy Bjerke Lanford (Matt), Kyle Bjerke, Amber Woitaszewski, Jessica Serratos (Carlos), Daniel Woitaszewski (Analisa) and Samantha Bjerke.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Lake Wilson American Legion Post 285.
