We announce the death of Marion Vasek in Lake Elmo, Minnesota, who passed away on October 11, 2026, at the age of 88. Marion will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Hettwer and Susan Hettwer; her husband George Vasek; her brother Hank; her parents-in-law, John and Albina Vasek; and her brothers-in-law, Darius Jaspers, William Burwell, Albert Vasek, Fran Rapacz and Leroy Barsness.
She is survived by: her children, John (Janet), Robert (Lisa), Deanne Wavra (Craig) and Julie Bryant (Chad); her grandchildren, Kaitlyn Larsen (Brandon), Alyssa, Matt, Jordan, Eric, Ryan and Kelli; her great grandchildren, Camden, Theodore and Saylor; her sisters, Angela Jaspers, Kathleen Burwell and Lyn Kreps (Brad); and her sisters-in-law, Nancy Hettwer, Emily Rapacz, Mary Barsness and Jan Vasek.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Dahl Funeral Home (2029 Central Ave NW, East Grand Forks, MN 56721). A prayer will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 at 5:30 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (200 3rd St NW, East Grand Forks, MN 56721). A burial will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Resurrection Cemetery (2203 River Rd NW, East Grand Forks, MN 56721).
