He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Olson and Alice Olson (Erickson); his wife Marion Knutson; his brother Richard Lewis; and his son Larry.
He is survived by: his children, Diane Freeman, LuAnn Wiedeman (Tim Reitan), Sharon Kohler (Parry Jacobson) and Richard Olson. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and his very special nieces.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 30th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Wright Funeral Home and Cremation Service- Hawley And (404 Leonard St, Hawley, MN 56549). A prayer was held on Thursday, April 30th 2026 at 6:30 PM at the Wright Funeral Home (404 Leonard St, Hawley, MN 56549). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 1st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Eksjo Lutheran Church (2002 2nd St, Lake Park, MN 56554).
