He was predeceased by: his parents, Reuben J. Jaster and Rita Jaster (Barta); his brother Tim; and his grandparents, Reuben Sr., Mamie Jaster, Wesley and Grace Barta.
He is survived by: his son Matthew II (Sarah) of Spring Grove, VA; his siblings, Leda Franklin, DeeAnna Brockway of Callaway Mn, Kyle Jaster Detroit (Tina) and Anita Coons EauClaire (Bruce); and his siblings' children, Wesley (Shae), Benjamin (Valla O'Loughlin), Henry (Brooke Sworski), Dayton (Briana), Jory, Neil and Ciera (Jacob Schmidt).
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 27th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the West Kjos Funeral Home Cremation Services (900 Summit Ave, Detroit Lakes, MN 56501). A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, October 27th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Oak Grove Cemetery (515 US-59, Detroit Lakes, MN 56501).
