He was predeceased by : his parents, Jere Poston and Patricia Poston (Murray). He is survived by : his wife Pam Poston; his stepdaughter Bailey Landecker (Luke); his grandsons, Berkeley and Mack; his siblings, Polly Noser (Layne), Patrick Poston (Peg) and Joy Stanley (Steven); his nieces and nephews, Steven Stanley (Heather), Katie Brown (Josh), Layne Noser (Olivia), Brett Noser (Holly), Patrick Poston (Jane Yoon) and Kelly Thompson (Seth); and his pet Molly.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials in John's memory are preferred to the Outreach Program of Brainerd Lakes.
