He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Mahowald and Irene Ruddle Mahowald (Donnelly); his stepfather Francis Mahowald; his siblings, Patricia Ruddle Dooley and Thomas Ruddle; his brother-in-law Jim Rollman; and the mother of his children Denise Ruddle (Betzold).

He is survived by: his children, Thomas Ruddle, Erin Egan (Russel), Jennifer Glover (Andrew) and Amanda Ruddle; his siblings, Linda Ruddle, Kathy Ruddle Rollman and Robert Ruddle (Katie); and his grandchildren, Brody, Bradley, Caleb, Alissa and Gabriella. He is also survived by many other extended family members, friends.
