He is survived by: his former wife Susan; his grandson Joshua; his brother Dave Barthel (Wally); his significant other Diane; his children, Erin Meyer (Johnathan), Joshua Lind (Sharon) and Erik Lind; his grandchildren, Sebastian, Jocelyn and Tynan; and his siblings, Lois Smith (Jerry), Sharron Herbert (Bill), Elaine Nelson (Jack), Judy Hitt, Al Eggert, Jim and Richard Barthel. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
