He was predeceased by: his parents, Calvin Charles and Helen LaVere Smith (Treloar); his wife Donna Lea Hadley; his sisters, Diane Speicher (Keith) and Margaret Campbell (Howard); and his brothers-in-law, Harry King, Roger Hadley and Richard Hadley.
He is survived by: his children, Scott Smith (Angela) of Fredericksburg, IA, Tim Smith (Megan) of Johnston and Susy Swaggert (Keith) of Le Center; his grandchildren, Morgan Herda, Austin Roemhildt-Herda, Reagan Cook (Jared), Madison Roemhildt-Herda, Cooper Smith and Jackson Smith; his great grandchildren, Calvin Cook, Taytum and Colson Dochniak; his siblings, Jack Smith of Fredericksburg, Iowa and Mary King of Fredericksburg, Iowa; and his sisters-in-law, Rita Hadley and Sue Hadley. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Le Center Funeral Home (245 S Maple Ave, Le Center, MN 56057). A funeral service was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at the Saint Marys Cemetery (464 N Maple Ave, Le Center, MN 56057).
