He is survived by: his brothers-in-law, Dale Coy and Conrad DeGroot; his wife Jeri; his children, Lisa Niemeyer (Dan) of Hardwick, Minnesota, Mark Van Essen (Amy) of Leota, Minnesota, Scott Van Essen (Desiree) of Sioux Center, Iowa and Lynae Dreessen (Dave) of Sioux Falls; his grandchildren, Dayne Niemeyer (Nicole) and Bella Niemeyer; his children, Tanna Van Essen (Ryan), Trey Van Essen (Kaitlin), Tucker Van Essen, Tya Van Essen, Georgia Van Essen, Eli Van Essen, Beau Van Essen, Maysa Dreessen, Mia Dreessen and Finn Dreessen; his great grandchildren, Lydia, Wesley Van Essen, Lennon Niemeyer and Lainey Soukup; his siblings, Cynthia DeBoer and Ivan Essen; and his siblings-in-law, Johnny Beukelman and Elaine Van Essen.
