He was predeceased by: his parents, Elliot Nelson and Esther Nelson; his brother Donald; and his grandson Austin James Barrett. He is survived by: his wife Carol Bonderson Nelson; his children, Rebecca Hulden (John), Sarah Nelson (Joe Ehlers), Timothy Nelson (Sheri) and Rachel Barrett (Broderick); his grandchildren, Maren Hulden (John Albanese), Timothy John Nelson, Carl Hulden (Vincent DiPeri), Britta Hulden (Michael Martin), Jens Hulden, Jediah Barrett (Brea Verhagen), Mariah Barrett (John Sansing), Gabriel Ehlers-Nelson and Claire Ehlers-Nelson; and his great grandchildren, August, Julian, Greta Hulden Albanese and Aurora Jo Barrett.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Taylors Falls, the American Cancer Society, or a cause of your choice.
