With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Sonja S. Nelson of Litchfield, Minnesota, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Sonja left this world on November 21, 2025 at the age of 82, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Lake and Aili Lake (Niemi); and her brother-in-law Delos. She is survived by: her husband Don Nelson; her children, Sue Netterfield (Barth) of Toronto, CA, Dave Nelson of Minneapolis, MN and Steve Nelson (Michelle Larson) of Litchfield, MN; her grandchildren, Joshua (Laura), Aili, Sophia (Wisam), Helena and Joel; and her siblings, Bob Lake (Sharon), Shirley Barber, Sandy Lake and Sally Boswer (Frank). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, December 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A memorial service was held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Cornerstone Church (205 County Rd 34, Litchfield, MN 55355).
