With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Rita A. Atkinson of Little Falls, Minnesota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 14, 2026 at the age of 94. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Schwientek and Frances Schwientek (Gallus); her husband Richard Atkinson Sr.; her siblings, Lois West, Mary Ann Cipala, Elaine Rodseth, BJ Schwientek and Allen Schwientek; and her grandchildren, Matthew and Dalona.
She is survived by: her children, Sharon Petrich (Alan), Debi Bobick (Duane), Diane Pruszinske (Wayne), Greg Atkinson (Sheri), Sandy Wilczek (Rob), Linda Hilmerson (Jim Jr.), Richard Jr. Atkinson (Terry), Robert Atkinson (Lidia), Pam Gillingham (Karl) and Scott Atkinson; and her siblings, Josephine Schneider, Stella McGraw, Karlene Herbrand (Bill) and Roger Schwientek. She is also survived by 31 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
