She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold DeGrasse and Lorraine DeGrasse (Jensen); her husband Hugh A. Scanlon; her brothers, Bruce DeGrasse and Douglas DeGrasse; and her grandson Shane Romer.
She is survived by: her children, Stephanie Romer (Duane), Shelly Birch (Mark) and Scott Scanlon; her grandchildren, Zachary Romer (Natalie), Cassie Birch (Daniel), Meagan Birch, Alexis Templin (Charlie) and Riley Scanlon; and her great grandchildren, Ava, Alex and Halle Templin.
She eventually had to give up tennis but continued to play bridge until the pandemic.
