It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Caroline Statema of Long Prairie, Minnesota, who passed away on October 31, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Caroline leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Hank Chakel and Anna Chakel. She is survived by: her daughters, Constance Marie Zetah (Kenneth) of Motley, Carrie Eve Statema of Little Fall and Carol Jean Peterson (Jody) of Swanville; her sister-in-law Connie Statema; and her cousin Jane Motzko. She is also survived by her three girls, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Iten Funeral Home (300 E 7th St, Browerville, MN 56438-0081). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 at the Evergreen Cemetery.
