He was predeceased by : his father Cecil Carpenter; his daughter Brenda Carpenter; his brother Calvin Carpenter; his siblings-in-law, Dr. Fred Grassin, Denny Gothmann and Mary Olson; his parents-in-law, Vi Chatfield and Jerry Gothmann; and his nephew Jerry Kelly.

He is survived by : his wife Gail; his mother Dorothy Carpenter Baird of Longville/Florida; his children, Lynn Daudt (Dale) of Jenkins, Shannon Hilts (John L) of Pequot Lakes and Bob Carpenter (Missy) of Breezy Point; his grandchildren, Kari, Brandon, Jason, Jacob, Dana, Jared and Jordan; his great grandchildren, McKenzie, Brogen, Jaxon, Brooks, Jayce, Tate and Ava; his siblings, Jerry Carpenter (Jan) of Longville and Sue Grassin of Florida; and his siblings-in-law, Bob Gothmann, Gene Olson, Steve Gothmann, Donna Gustafson, Diana Slagle and Paula Carpenter. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
