He is survived by: his wife Arlene Sirek; his children, Julie Koktavy, Ed Jr. Koktavy (Shanna), Michelle Erickson (Rob) and Krystal Koktavy; his grandchildren, Christian Smith Jr., Kody (Alisa), Hazel Koktavy, Ella, Anna, Anders, Ayden, Easton Erickson and Makayla Koktavy; and his siblings, Joseph (Rosie), Milo Koktavy (Bernita) and Marcy Nelson (Richard). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
