With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Arvid Thoreson (Luverne, Minnesota), who passed away on September 1, 2025 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Thoreson and Eva Thoreson (Alfson); his wife Shirley Pederson; his brother Ralph; his grandsons, Andrew Heikes and Shannon Walgrave; his daughters-in-law, Patricia and Kathy Thoreson; his grandson-in-law Nate Skattum; his great grandchild Montana Ennenga; his nephew Daryl Thoreson; and his brother-in-law Chuck Quam.
He is survived by: his children, Judy Walgrave (Rod) of Luverne, Jannis Heikes (Les) of Brandon, SD, Randy Thoreson of Sioux Falls, SD and Greg Thoreson of Sioux Falls; his brother Myron Thoreson (Cindy) of Lincoln, NE.; and his grandchildren, Tim Walgrave (Amber), Mandy Skattum, Nicky Skattum (Matt), Matt Heikes, Tom Heikes, Treasure Thoreson, Tara Thoreson, Tori Thoreson, Taylor Thoreson, Jack Thoreson (Nick) and Derek Thoreson (Veronica). He is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
