He was predeceased by: his father Norlan Ver Steeg; his grandparents, Norman Ver Steeg and Mitsue Kain; and his aunts, Earleen Eitreim and Dori Kain.
He is survived by: his mother Kathleen Kay Ver Steeg (Kain) of Luverne; his wife Amy Dispanet; his children, Sage Ver Steeg of Sioux Falls and Tate Ver Steeg of Luverne; and his siblings, Nathan Ver Steeg (Tonya) of Luverne, Manda Steensma (Mark) of Luverne and Amy Dispanet of Luverne.
