He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Nelson and Ruth Nelson (Barclay); and his granddaughter Ryan Nelson. He is survived by: his significant other Alice Garza; his children, Debra Freeman (John) of Watauga and Mark Nelson (Alison) of Vance, Alabama; his grandchildren, Theresa Campbell, Elizabeth Freeman and Christopher Nelson; and his great grandchildren, Gavin Campbell, Zachary Campbell, Josie Nelson and Gavin Nelson.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 16th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Christian Reformed Church - Pipestone (800 2nd Ave SE, Pipestone, MN 56164). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, September 16th 2025 at the Old Woodlawn Cemetery (676 116th St, Pipestone, MN 56164).
