He was predeceased by: his father James Smith. He is survived by: his mother Ann Smith (Ladwig) of Rock Rapids; his sons, Christopher Smith (Stephanie) of Rock Rapids and Riley Smith of Rock Rapids; his grandchildren, Jocelyn, Kale, Eliana, Laviah and Avery; and his close friend Tammi Kremin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
