He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Murray; his children, Bronwyn Wenzel (Robert) of Luverne and Douglas Gunderson, Jr. of Sioux Falls; his grandchildren, Mason Wenzel, Madilyn Wenzel, Chase Gunderson and Zachary Gunderson; his siblings, Beth Bisson (Tom) of Jasper and Jan Krapf of New Ulm, Minnesota; and his sisters-in-law, Geraldine Gunderson of Trosky and Betty Gerlach (Skip) of Elk River, Minnesota. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Hartquist Funeral Home - Luverne Chapel (207 Elm St, Luverne, MN 56156). A prayer was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
