She was predeceased by: her parents, William Kuhlmann and Louise Kuhlmann (Hellbusch); her husband Elmer Bartels; and her siblings, Elmer (Ruth Ann Kuhlman), Donald (Carol Kuhlman) and Lois (LeRoy Lorenzen).

She is survived by: her children, Rebecca Bartels of Minnetonka, Rachel Lenz of Victoria, Timothy Bartels (Lori) of Truman and James Bartels (Elizabeth "Bees" Hackett) of Luverne; her grandchildren, Crystal Kuczynski (Tony), Dustin Lenz (Jodi), Megan Herzog (Mark), Derek Lenz, Amanda Aalderks (Nate), Adam Bartels (Arianne), Alexa Bartels, Alek Bartels (Trisha), Aidan Bartels (Katlyn Dykhoff), Isaiah Bartels and Rio Bartels; her great grandchildren, Annabelle Lenz, Addison Kuczynski, Victoria Lenz, Jackson Lenz, Scarlett Kuczynski, Elijah Herzog, Xavier Kuczynski, Benjamin Herzog, Olivia Herzog, Noah Aalderks, Ajax Aalderks, Estelle Bartels and Penelope Bartels; and her sister-in-law Rose Marie Meyer (Gene) of Sioux Falls. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and their spouses.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hartquist Funeral Home - Luverne Chapel (207 Elm St, Luverne, MN 56156). A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church (401 E Wall St, Jasper, MN 56144). A burial will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 at the Memory Gardens Cemetery - Luverne.
