He was predeceased by : his parents, Dick Jeffer and Hattie Jeffer (Lyftogt); his former life partner Wilma Smidstra; his sisters, Joan Van Hof and C. H. Kolleen; and his nephew Dale Vant Hof.

He is survived by : his wife Danelle Jeffer; his children, Richard Jeffer (Pam) and Rachelle VanderWaal (Mark); his grandchildren, Joey Jeffer, Kristin Mcintosh (Cory), Brady VanderWaal and Tanner VanderWaal; and his sister Hellen Nordgren (Dave). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
