He was predeceased by : his parents, Louis Laackmann and Gertrude Laackmann (Mann); and his son-in-law Keith Gause. He is survived by : his wife Mary Laackman of Sioux Falls; and his children, Jeff Laackmann (Karla) of Luverne, Lona Wacker (Ron) of Eagan and Letha Gause of Yankton. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
