He was predeceased by : his parents, Frederick Wessels and Jennie Wessels (Bergman); his wife Joyce Reemts; his son Michael Wessels; his grandson Andy Wessels; his great grandchild Lucille Sailor; his siblings, Vernice Wessels, Dale Wessels, Darrel Wessels, Stanley Wessels, Phyllis Schouwenberg and Iva Elbers; and his siblings-in-law, Dorothy Johnson, Sharon Wessels, Jolene Wessels, Ginny Wessels, Edwin Boelman and Donald Schouwenberg.
He is survived by : his children, Linda Schoon (Dick Knapper) of Sioux Falls and Mark Wessels (Lin) of Rock Rapids; his siblings, Lowell Wessels of Steen, Harold Wessels of Luverne, Douglas Wessels of Hardwick, David Wessels (Beverly) of Steen and Enore Boelman of Luverne; his daughter-in-law Linda Wessels of Rock Rapids; and his siblings-in-law, Gladys Walker (Herman) of Sioux Falls, Theresa Wessels of Luverne, Gertrude Wessels of Luverne and Ed Elbers of Luverne. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
