He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Ykema and Jennie Ykema (Hoekstra); his wife Evelyn Van Egdom; his children, Norwyn and Noreen Moss; and his siblings, Tony Ykema (Wanda), Bernard Ykema, Lawrence Ykema (Lois), Melvin Ykema (Wilmina), Joyce Feenstra (John), Madelyn Wallinga (Paul) and Anita Van Maanen (Henry).
He is survived by: his daughter Brenda (Gary Barrett) of St. Joseph, Minnesota; his grandchildren, Jennifer Groen (Shawn), Sheryl Remme (Kyle), Brian Moss (Jody), Micah Barrett (Jeanine) and Jordan Barrett (Morgan); and his great grandchildren, Jonathan Moss (Hannah), Mya Moss, Emma, Sophie Groen, Blaycie, Emersyn Remme, Roger, Nora Barrett and Mara Barrett.
