He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Zinnel and Velma Zinnel (Wehler); his brothers, Johnny Zinnel, Ronald Zinnel and Richard Zinnel; and his grandparents, John, Minnie Zinnel and Frieda Wehler.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Zinnel of Luverne, Minnesota; his children, Shelly Savage (Merle) of Rochester, Michael Zinnel (Karen) of Hills and Denise Ernst of Luverne, Minnesota; his grandchildren, Sean Savage (Megan), Ethan Savage, Aaron Savage (Ashley Heald), Kjistren Savage (Andromeda), Hailey Nath (Ben), Kyla Gemuenden (Jack) and Sara Veld (Mitchell); and his great grandchildren, Soren Savage, Calvin Savage, Amelia Savage, Owen Nath, Aubrey Nath, Jayden Nath and Wolfe Gemuenden.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. John Lutheran Church - Luverne (803 N Cedar St, Luverne, MN 56156). A prayer will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
Memorials can be directed towards the Luverne Sanford Hospice Cottage, St. John Little Lambs Pre-School or the Rock County Fair Association.
