He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Bassett and Esther Forsberg Bassett; his siblings, Lori (Jerry Duffy), Jane (John Weis), Kenneth Bassett and Chesleigh Bassett; and his niece Kristin Duffy.
He is survived by: his brother Herbert Bassett (Judy) of Onalaska, WI; and his sister-in-law Deb Bassett of Slayton, MN. He is also survived by 15 nieces and nephews, 36 great-nieces and nephews and 12 great-great nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church (501 Mill St, Currie, MN 56123). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
