He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Elkins and Lona Elkins; his wife Catherine Pauley; his granddaughter Carissa; and his siblings, Bonnie and Mert.
He is survived by: his children, Cindy Breitbarth of Madelia, Rick Elkins (Lisa) of Madelia, Joanne Evjen (Paul) of Madelia and Doug Elkins (Sandy) of Mankato; his sister Jean Cole of Wisconsin Dells, WI; and his sister-in-law Kathy Elkins. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the St. Mary's School (212 1st St NE, Madelia, MN 56062). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church - Madelia (223 1st St NE, Madelia, MN 56062). A burial will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Calvary Cemetery - Madelia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
