She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvin Schmieding and Grace Schmieding (Sjolie); her grandparents, Paul, Regina Schmieding, Alfred and Gladys Sjolie; her grandchildren, Kylie and Taylor Schafer; and her siblings, Alton Schmieding, Joan Sime and Sharon Street.
She is survived by: her sons, Greg Schafer (Holly) of Brookings, SD, Brian Schafer (Lauren) of Garnett, KS and Jamie Schafer (Jessica) of Ankeny, IA; her grandchildren, Riley Schafer (Marah), Kennedy Shoup (Carter), Bree Schafer, Kale Schafer, Jordan Schafer and Jade Schafer; her siblings, Darroll Schmieding, Thomas Schmieding (Earlene), William Schmieding, Alvin Schmieding and Gail Sime; and her brother-in-law Jeff Sime. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
