With sadness, we share the passing of Charles Abele of Moorhead, Minnesota. Charles, born on July 25, 1933, passed away on October 30, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Abele and Evelyn Abele (Schultz); his daughter Charlene; his sister Betty Welch; his brothers-in-law, Jerry Welch and Tom Killian; and his son-in-law Dave Langen.
He is survived by: his wife Georgian Abele of Moorhead; his children, Jeffrey Abele (Becky) of Glyndon, MN, Lori Akre (Daniel Jinks) of Deer River, MN and Lisa Neisen (Jeffrey) of Glyndon, MN; his sister Dorothy Killian of Fosston, MN; and his grandchildren, Samantha (Ryan), Ashley (Brady), Kayla, Christopher, Kyle (Taylor), Whitney (Ben) and Brian (Jenna). He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Lutheran Church. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
