He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Pannell Thielen (Thielen) and John "Jonnie" Pannell; his stepfather Greg Thielen; his son Mike Pannell; his siblings, Paul Pannell and Jayne Thompson; his in-laws, Chester and Murriel Jappe; his siblings-in-law, Abe Jappe, Dan Larson, Joanne Thielen and Claire LaFriniere; his nephew Gabe Thompson; his daughter-in-law Sonya Pannell; and his close friends, Snoopy and Samantha.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra "Sandy" (Jappe); his son Daniel (Kristy); his grandsons, Sebastian, Dartagnan (Rudy), Payne and Mikey Jr.; his siblings, G. G. Thielen (Greg), Marcus "Butchy" Thielen (Kim), Mary Kay Jappe, Margaret Larson and Joanie Bruggeman (Rick); and his siblings-in-law, Carol Bauer and Frank Thompson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Central Lutheran Church (28 E Columbia St, Chippewa Falls, WI 54729). A funeral service was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Riverside Memorial Cemetery.
