We announce the death of Genia Nachtmann (Aurora, Minnesota), born in Virginia, Minnesota, who passed away on September 20, 2026, at the age of 78. Genia will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arne Kettunen and Helia Kettunen; her former husband Lanny Nachtmann; her sister Janet Matara; and her nephew Nick Matara.
She is survived by: her children, Shannon Nachtmann, Leah Theivagt (Larry) and Noel Nachtmann; and her cousins, Kathy Jackson, Bruce Tyynela, Sandy Taylor (Chris), David Homola (Kathy) and Richard Homola (Paivi).
Visitation was held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Palo Congregational Church (5530 Loop 36, Aurora, MN 55705). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at the Makinen Cemetery (6959 Gavin Rd, Eveleth, MN 55734).
Genia Marie Nachtmann, 78 years of age, went home to be with The Lord on Sunday, September 20th, 2026, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's.
