Barbara Kathryn Gits Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Barbara Kathryn Gits of Mankato, Minnesota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 28, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd Smith and Clara May Smith (McDonald); her husband Gordon P. Gits; her son Stephen; and her siblings, Mary Elizabeth Dauk and William Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Theresa Gits-Borgstrom, Paul Gits, Mary Reiggins and Elizabeth Hackett; and her grandchildren, Ashley Olson and Lucas Reiggins. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (632 S Broad St, Mankato, MN 56001). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Luverne Dollars for Scholars or the Pillars of Mankato Dimensions Memory Care.
