He was predeceased by : his parents, Nicholas Thul and Veronica Thul; his wife Mary Thul; his daughter Mary Jo Thul; and his siblings, Vincent Thul, Nicholas Thul, Marcy Doyle, Margaret Kimball, Kay Resner and Vera Grimes.

He is survived by : his children, Terry Thul of Rochester, Minnesota and Peggy Noga (Doug) of Rochester; his granddaughters, Marie Harris (Michael) and Laura Noga; his great grandchildren, Benjamin of Rochester, Atticus of Rochester and Asher Harris of Rochester; and his siblings-in-law, Marlene Thul of North Mankato, Minnesota and Al Kimball of Folsom, California. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Mankato.
