It is with sadness that the passing of Ione M. Geistfeld of Mankato, Minnesota is shared. Ione, born on November 4, 1938, passed away on September 26, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Gunder Sorenson and Zora Sorenson (Van Deventer); and her sisters, Elaine Bowen (William) and Barbara Moulds. She is survived by: her husband Ernest Geistfeld; her children, Jon (Denise) of Mankato, MN, Philip (Karis) of Beverly Hills, FL and Susan Heidorn (Kenneth) of Fergus Falls, MN; her grandchildren, Danielle, Benjamin, Emily, Evan, Stephanie, Noah and Rachael; and her brother-in-law Melvin Moulds.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Peace Lutheran Church (2090 Commerce Dr, North Mankato, MN 56003). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials are preferred to Peace Lutheran, Ecumen Memory Care, or Bethany College.
