He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Schwertfeger and Marvel Schwertfeger; and his siblings, Paul, Elizabeth Gill, Paula Schepmoes and Miriam Schwertfeger.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Autumn, Grace, Faith Schwertfeger, Heidi, Gretta, Collin, Gabe Schwertfeger, Charlotte and Violet Hall; his wife Ruth; his children, Michael Schwertfeger (Jennifer), Rev. Scott Schwertfeger (Laura) and Jill Hall (Jake); his sisters, Margaret, Deborah and Virginia; and also Mark. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be given to St. Mark Lutheran Church or Risen Savior Lutheran School in lieu of flowers.
