With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Philip Ralph Chester of Mankato, Minnesota, born in Northfield, Minnesota, who passed away on October 5, 2022 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Chester and Elizabeth "Bessie" Chester (Siemers); his wife Joni; his sister Joan; and his brother-in-law Mel Stout.
He is survived by: his children, Joe Chester (Karen) of North Mankato, Bob Chester (Merrelin) of North Mankato, Mark Chester (Joyce) of New Ulm, Nancy Kowalski (Mark) of St. Peter and Julie Johnson (Kevin) of Rice; his grandchildren, Kelsey Siem (Caleb), Molly Hoium (Travis), Gena Chester (Miller Crawford), Olivia Chester, Christopher Schrupp, Mackenzie Chester (Simon Koenigs), Jessica Wersal (Dan), Brandon Kowalski (Lexi Eggers), Kyle Johnson, Erik Johnson (Tessa) and Sara Johnson; his great grandchildren, Theo, Margot, Caden and Carly; and his sisters-in-law, Diane Wild and Judy Streitz. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
