Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Deborah Smith of Mantorville, Minnesota, who passed away at the age of 71, on September 18, 2025. As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Deborah may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, S. Luther Simonson and Audrey Simonson (Sande); and her siblings, Rachel and Nathaniel. She is survived by: her husband Wayne Smith; and her children, Diana Moore, Eric Smith and Ryan Smith (Abby). She is also survived by 6 grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A memorial service was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. John's Lutheran Church (301 8th Ave NW, Kasson, MN 55944).
The majority of her career was spent working as an Assistant to the Bishop for the ELCA for 14 years and as a Marketing Representative for the ELCA Foundation.
