She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Johnson and Irene Johnson (Kohmetscher); her husband Lester Aretz; and her brothers, Wayne Johnson, Leon Johnson and Marlon Johnson.

She is survived by: her daughters, Brenda Conzet (George) of Buffalo, Stephanie Lucken (Tom) of South Haven, Bonnie Aretz of Buffalo Lake, Renee Maass of Chaska, Jennifer Pullins of Parkers Prairie and Leslie Nyholm (Jason) of Kimball; and her sister Cleo O'Brian of Hutchinson. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
