He was predeceased by: his parents, Orin Spurlin Simpson and Margaret Amy Simpson; and his wife Sue Ann. He is survived by: his sister Susan Vosburg; his sons, Matthew (Kandee), Gary (Susan) and David (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Colin, Keegan (Nadia), Lauren (Jake), Madeline (Tim), Christian, Lydia, Ellie, Sophia, Levi, Josiah and Leily; and his great grandchildren, Locke and Leighton.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Evangelical Free Church (2696 Hazelwood St, Maplewood, MN 55109). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 12:45 PM and from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery (7601 34th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55450).
