She was predeceased by: her parents, Adlai Heinis and Laura Heinis (Kontz); her husband Howard Swanson; her children, Charlene Claeys Sapp and William "Bill" Swanson; and her siblings, Jane Prellwitz, Bernice Breyfogle and Joe Heinis.
She is survived by: her daughter Myia Sanow (Allen) of Reedsburg, WI; and her grandchildren, Mark Claeys (Heather), Shala Irwin, Leea Upchurch (Shane), Billie Jo Suchocki (Chip), Ryan Swanson, Shane Sanow, Taya Christensen (Jesse) and Shonda Kersten of Brittany. She is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
