He was predeceased by: his parents, Art Windey and Frances Windey (Differding); and his siblings, Robert and Louise. He is survived by: his wife Gin Windey of Marshall; his son Lance Windey (Christine) of Queen Creek, AZ; his grandchildren, Lauren (Ben) and Dominic Windey; his daughter Jami Roos (Jason) of Marshall; his grandchildren, Maya and Halle Roos; his siblings, Marian Drumm (Dan) of Marshall, Mervin Windey (Janet) of Alexandria and Susie Windey (Joe Murad) of Redwood Falls; and his sister-in-law Marilyn Windey of Florida. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives, and countless friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 18th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, January 19th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A prayer was held on Sunday, January 18th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the Horvath Remembrance Center (404 W Lyon St, Marshall, MN 56258). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, January 19th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church (503 W Lyon St, Marshall, MN 56258).
