He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Atkins and Pat Atkins (Campbell); his wife Julie "Jules"; his father-in-law Lennis Miller; and his favorite boston girls, Harley and Princess.

He is survived by: his children, Lennis Kennedy (Kristi "Cupcake") of Lynd, Ashley and James Atkins Jr. "Hambone" (Morgan "Morgie" Hansen) of Marshall; his grandchildren, Ethan "Eenie" and Ella "Molly"; his mother-in-law Sharron Miller; and his siblings-in-law, Todd, Deb Blomme, Gwen Paradis, Tim Paradis and Dan Miller (Jen). He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
