He was predeceased by: his parents, James Busby and Olevia "Lee" Busby (Varner); his sister Elaine Crandall; his brothers-in-law, George Crandall and Patrick Mackey; and his nephew Jaime Busby.

He is survived by: his children, Shawn Busby (Holly), Chuck Ross, Cassandra Ross and Sara Busby (Ryan); his grandchildren, Arianna, Edward, Samuel, Emmett and Nolan; and his siblings, Carolyn Mackey, Joanne Staub (Charles), Bill Busby (Sharon), Linda Beach (Robert) and Janet Busby (James). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
