He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard "Ben" Bussmann and Elizabeth Bussmann (Wenker); his daughter Lynn MacRae; and his siblings, Anna Mae Morrison (Jim), Cecilia Hansen (Donovan), Bernice Theiler (Clarence), Rita Poepping (Jerome), Lorraine Kraker (Jack), Eddie Bussmann, Betty Lou Goebel and Doris Peterson (Reuben Weiner).
He is survived by: his wife Clotilda "Tillie" Bussmann of Melrose; his children, Ronnie Bussmann (Mary Lou) of Grey Eagle, Karen Sand (Jim) of New Munich, Jenny Mayers (Rick) of Melrose, Bonnie Poepping (Phil) of New Munich and Brenda Knick (Nick) of Englewood, Florida; his son-in-law Lee MacRae of Spicer; and his siblings-in-law, Darlene Bussmann of Melrose and Vic Goebel of Freeport. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose.
