He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Tomsche and Christine Tomsche (Broeker); and his brothers, Thomas Tomsche of Albany and Robert Tomsche of Sauk Centre. He is survived by: his friend Arizona; his wife Theresa Tomsche (West); his children, Daniel (Karen Sand), David (Molly), Steven (Brenda), Mary and Michael (Amy); and his sisters, Dorthy Schaefer (Ben) of Fairfax, Virginia, Agnes Cushing of The Villages and Mary Lou Christenson (Whitey) of Paynesville. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 4th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, June 5th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A prayer will be held on Thursday, June 4th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home (418 Fifth Ave SE, Melrose, MN 56352). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Saint Mary's Catholic Church (755 E Kraft Dr, Melrose, MN 56352).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Cloud CentraCare Hospice.
