He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Finken and Loretta Finken (Stueve); his former wife Alice Finken; his grandson Aaron Heiber; his siblings, LeRoy Finken and Mary Ann Engelmeyer; his siblings-in-law, Richard Austing, Eugene Bueckers, Roger Engelmeyer and Grace Finken; Gene Petermeier.
He is survived by: his wife Bernette Finken of Melrose; his children, Sharon Blaskowski (Tim) of Melrose, Chad Finken (Mary) of Minot, Julie Finken Heiber (Greg Ramler) of Albany, Tom Finken of St. Cloud, Kyle Finken (Bernadette) of Apple Valley and Joe Finken (Dana) of Melrose; his stepsons, Brian Petermeier (Amy) of Hudson, Michael Petermeier of St. Louis Park, Wayne Petermeier (Kris) of Browerville and Keith Petermeier (Rachel) of Marshall; and his sisters, Dorothy Austing of Freeport and Donna Bueckers of St. Rosa. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Melrose Lions.
